Take Me Home With You.......

~ I've been away for
 a few days.....
Sunny Manchester be the place!
Where incidentally the sun did shine brightly. Well for the couple of days we were there...
I hope your bank holiday was well spent!
~ Chin up, I know we all have 'window crying' weather today!
~ Such is life ~

( Courtesy of Google thank you kindly)

~ Over the weekend we had a jolly time indeed......
With tickets to see, Lana Del Rey in concert at the Manchester Apollo...
~ I've never been to a concert at the Apollo before and found it really intimate and full of character and charm!
~ What I'm really saying here is, not too BIG...as I get terribly claustrophobic at concerts, and almost always like to be near an exit.......
HELP!
( An age thing, me thinks)

~
We had a fabulous view of her, really close up!
~ and although Lana was good...I did also enjoy Billy Lockett, the act that stepped in at the last minute to support her...
~ A very talented young man!

~ Very atmospheric!
~ Lana is perhaps not everyone's 'cup of tea', the evening was lovely though and a treat for Olivia for finishing her exams at sixth form....
A very tense time for all involved to get those much needed grades, I know!

Saturday brought a little retail therapy....
~ where these little darlings whispered to me...
"Take me home with you"....
So I did!
~ Well I got to thinking it may be rude not too!

~ Having a ''soft spot' for red shoes, I just couldn't resist.....
Does it matter that I can't walk in them?
hehe!

~ A few more things, whispered gently,"take me home with you"...
But I pretended not to hear them in this shop!
Patrick was giving me the 'We have a house full of this' look so I closed my ears to the wanting....
~ Which was terribly difficult!
****************

As always the displays of vintage loveliness are always a delight to have a peek at...
~ And  I did have my camera close by too....
Naughty of me!

~

~ And just because Patrick had been ever so patient shopping with the girls...
We stopped by to take a look at the Manchester city games held in Deans-gate!
~ I could have touched these guys, but didn't want to be arrested so settled on the photograph!

That's about all from me...
I hope you all had fun in the sun this last weekend too!
~ Thank you ever so much for the wonderful comments!
I am looking forward to catching up with you all with a nice pot of tea very soon!
Ooh  and lets hope the weather 'pulls it's socks up for us all'...
~ Take time to dream......

"Love Means Never Having To Say You Are Sorry"......

~ The full Milk Moon...
"The abundance of greenery to eat at this time of year
gives cows and goats the potential to produce rich,
fortified milk...
People often think they are the most attractive
under a full Milk moon."...
~ Taken from the girl who chased the moon..
~ Because we are growing into a full moon this weekend...
The full Milk Moon.
~ Which is a perfect time for new ideas to be planted and left to grow....

~ And this last week has seen me out and about wearing my 'thinking cap', most days!
Ideas popping into my head, left, right and centre...
~ Thank you for kind comments about, 'Bumble Bee's new blog...
I will be sure to keep you all posted!
It is going to' bee' ever so busy, but exciting!

********

~ Taking time to just bee...
I love water as long as I am on dry land!

~Last week I treated my self to this movie...~
Just a small clue?
I must admit to being a hopeless romantic!
~ I really am..

" LOVE Means Never Having To Say You Are Sorry".....
The very famous quote from this beautiful film...

~ Going back a little way now.....
~ I was a small child in 1970, when this movie was released...
I remember my parents falling in LOVE with the film.....
~ and the music, which was hauntingly beautiful,  played through out our home.....
Such a perfect movie for feeling a little melancholy...
Interestingly I found information that, 'Oprah' had a special show recently
to celebrate the films, 40th anniversary...
Both Ryan Oneal and Ali McGraw admitting on the show that they would love to have a real, 'Love Story' with each other , even after all these years.....
Isn't that lovely!
The movies opening lines, must be some of the most poignant opening lines ever...
" What can you say about a twenty five year old girl....Who died.
that she was beautiful and brilliant?
~that she loved Mozart and Bach, the Beatles and Me"
*****
I wonder if you are old enough to remember the movie?
hehe!

Little Trinny, cozying down, with a spot of music.....
*******

I will close for now....
Be kind to your selves, won't you...
~ and just because I am still wearing my 'thinking cap'..
I will ask a question of you....
Is there an old movie, which brings back sweet memories...
and takes you back to another time....another place....

There Will 'Bee' Ramberlings On Here Today........

"Happy of happiest Tuesday's to you all...
Today has me feeling a little, light and giddy"!
I must confess that I haven't been on the sherry, well not yet, any ways!
hehe....

***********

~ And if you would 'bee' so kind to pull up a chair and pop on the kettle...
And stay for a while.....
This would please me greatly!

~" There will 'bee' a little ramblings of sorts on here today"...
~
And a little secret or two to tell......
***********
~
~And so with, pretty dolly clothes and indeed bunny knits to wash and air...
Just take a moment, and please don't despair!

~ So with a tea cup in hand and a comfy chair...
The jobs will wait, you will bee right there!
Giddy Tuesdays poem

*******

The clothes line poem...
~" A clothes line was a news forecast
to neighbours passing by...
there were no secrets you could keep
when clothes were hung to dry!
It was a friendly link for neighbours
Who always knew if
 company had stopped on
by to spend a night or two...
For then you'd see the "fancy sheets"
And towels upon the line
You'd see the pretty table clothes
with intricate designs...
the line announced a babies birth
to folks who lived inside...
As brand new little infants clothes
were hung so carefully with pride.
It said "gone on vacation now"
When lines hung limp and bare
It told " were back again!"
When full lines sagged with not
an inch to spare...
But clothes lines are now a thing
of the past for dryers make work less
And now what goes on inside the house
is any bodies guess?
I really miss that way of life
It was a friendly sign..
When neighbours knew each
other best by what hung upon the line"....
~ unknown.

Incidentally and if you please, I love my washing hung blowing in the winds....
~ I do wonder what the neighbours will think of bunny sweaters and pantaloons, though!

~ "Ooh hurry with our 'smalls'....
Tis rather chilly, If you would 'bee' so kindly"!
*******
The end of ramblings......

~ The secret!
~
In the next few weeks I will 'bee' skipping for joy!
I have been asked, ever so kindly, to start a blog for my little day job...
Tis where I spend my hours and pennies, you know!
~ I call it an Aladdin's cave of loveliness!

~It gives me great delight to be able to take you all to work with me!
~ Tis one of the happiest places to Bee!
In the coming month we are moving , with a skip and a jump over the road...
~Where we shall delight in serving all things lovely, but with a  pot of tea and a delightful piece of cake!
All served on pretty china..If you mind!
~ I am delighted to announce that I am BUZZING, a little and a lot....
I do hope you will all join me, virtually of course...
~ Or less you ever 'bee' in town, to visit!
That would be just, wonderful!
Then do pop in and say, hello!
*************

~ Again, thank you for all the kindest comments....
I will be popping in on you all as soon as can be...
~ Take time to dream, lovely friends....

(A Busy Bee in deed!)

The Sand Man.....

" The Sandman is coming"

~ I clocked off late last evening from blog land....
It was one of those wonderful, 'Balmy' evenings....
YOU know the ones...
Where you hold off going to bed as long as you possibly can.......
The first of many, I hope...

"Saying night, night," virtually.........
to a few of you, lovely, blogging ladies....
~  As I started to climb the stairs...With weary, heavy, eyes...
I heard " Sand man is coming" in my mind...
Do you remember, 'Sand man', I wonder?.
I had simply forgotten all about him...

*********

**********

The Sand man, by Evaleen Stein.

"The Sandman! hark I hear him...
He's coming up the stairs...
And every body near him is nodding, I declare!
He's peeping in the door now, and first of all he spies,
as he has done before now,
The little children's eyes...
Then quickly does he throw it...
His golden sleepy sand,
And all before they know it ,
Are off to sleepy land"........
Such a sweet poem....

~ I can remember my Mum telling us at bed time, "Sand man is coming"...
We would persist, that we weren't tired at all!
But she knew, by the gentle rubbing of the eyes...
If I am honest, I was a little scared, at the time and wondered just who he was!
Last night I Googled, Mr Sandman, for my self.... and found out a little about the guy, who takes your hand gently to the land of nod....
and this is what I found...
" A character in folklore and children's fairy tales, who lulls them to sleep by sprinkling sand dust into their tiny eyes"....
~ I can quite clearly remember telling my children about the man with the soft gentle sand, who makes those little eyes go heavy and ready for sleepy dreams.....
~ I wonder do you remember him too?
.

~ The bank holiday was a bit special! ~ wasn't it just..
"And the sun most certainly had his hat on."
Hip pip hip pip hooray!
Looks like more for today...
YIPPEE!

(Card from Mrs Thriftwood,, created, by the lovely , Hetty Brown, of course)

~ We had a lovely, bank holiday, with a trip to the lake district!
~ and a lovely fish and chip lunch...
I charmed my man to leave his paint brush at home and to come out and play, for once!
Glad I did too, because the day was superb!
The book above is my latest read... and it is what I will be dreaming of tonight, not the cookery, I may add, just the camper van......when the sand man visits of course!
Thank you for kind words always.....they really make me smile!
Have fun in the sun my friends....
Love Maria x
~ With her Rosey Tinted 'sun' glasses on...... of course!
