A vintage kind of week.....

A word that describes all that shines with the prettiest of lights...

This week has been one of the nicest kinds ~

along with blowing out candles and making wishes....

Mr Rosey Tinted Spectacles 

 and I celebrated 25 years of wedded bliss!

ha ha..

 It only seems like yesterday.

Like most other young couple then..

We didn't have two pennies to rub together...

We didn't have a honey moon....

Goodness no....

We needed a washing machine much more than a fancy holiday!

Dean would be born prematurely in the August...

Busy, busy days..

I smile when I think of just how much we needed to build and feather

our nest back then....

The last three days we have spent here, to celebrate in a little more style..

The Lake side hotel on lake Windermere...

This beautiful picture of the hotel from many moons ago was displayed in our room.

Then...

And now...

A beautiful retreat with the most stunning views...

This weekend we will celebrate with closest family and friends..

Small but so very special..

~ a lot like we did back then...

A Mish ~ Mash Of Lovely Things...

"April brings the promises that May is bound to keep!

Perhaps it's because April is so full of dazzling sunlight.

Is this why our spirits start to soar?

Perhaps it's because resurrection is this month's signature.

Now the season of dark diminishes as the season of

light increases in strength.  

In the garden, primroses, pansies,violets,tulips and

lilac's burst with colour.

Each one flower, plant and bough bears's profound 

witness to it's own authenticity"..

April, that is...

For me April brings..

A mish ~ mash of loveliness.

And the simple promise of all that is lovely

~ to follow...
It also brings my birthday.

Yep, April is going to be a special
month.

We have Easter bonnets to wear...
and all those delicious chocolate eggs..
~ I make no 'buts' about it...
Easter time is my most favourite time of year!!

When small.

My Saturday was ever so busy in Bumble Bee...

with little visitors delighting in choosing a special gift 

for their lovely Mama's..

In the afternoon tea and scones were served in 
the prettiest china cups, to all that 

 should happen to come through 

the doors..
We were busy little bee's
But the day was special.

I'm a hoping you were all
utterly spoilt rotten on the day it's self!
hehe!
Mr Rosey Tinted Spectacles and I took a walk 
to see all the baby lambies, new to this beautiful world..
( my most favourite walk at this time of year)
I wanted to bring them all home!

My goodness me, my auricular is blooming at long last!!

I still have 'pesky' builders here this week...
Sad but true.
 It's a  l  o n g ~   l o n g  job!
but I'm grinning and bearing..
and today is my day off after all
  I'm going to spend it wisely...
so on with the kettle.

A sister and a friend

A blessing twice...

It's a Nostalgic little post from me today!

A little ramblings of sorts..

Last week I felt out of depth a little...

I know we all get this feeling from time to time...

I'd run out of steam and didn't know where to mail order to

find a top up!

All down to having my little place of dwellings bombarded

by builders of the messiest kind.....

With dust and dirt every where, I wanted to hide...
Run away even!

Mr Rosey Tinted Spectacles tried to explain

" That you can't make an omelette with out breaking eggs"!!

He nearly always quotes this to me at times, like this.

His favourite man saying , me thinks!!

It didn't help one tiny little bit.

Even Willow was none to happy, so to speak...

She quickly took her self up to her bed..

Invasions of the builder kind are just not her favourite 

kind of kittie days......

Fiddle sticks

 I thought!

I need to take time out...

And time out being just what the Doctor ordered.

I enjoyed some laughter and a little light heartedness

here at....

The Netherwood

Grange over Sands..

I'd joined my big sister Donna and a few 'old' pals 

for a day spent in the beautiful sunshine!

It was her Birthday you see.

~ And Birthdays most certainly should be celebrated....

We popped on a train, and ended up here

for a day to recharge

And pause for  a quiet moment..

and jolly well notice all that is ~

bright and beautiful, just now..

The earth has been sleeping, and now she

seems to be waking once more...

Daffodils always make me smile..

As do wild violets and the palest of pale Primroses..

~ scattered here and there...

It always makes me feel

 like Mother nature  has been busy with her paint brushes 

and started a canvas of fresh new colours for a brand new 

spring time!

I've included a few old world~y pictures  

of us two sisters...

And I just wanted to 

add.

"Sisters are the best"..

Aren't they just?

Quite simply we always have the bond of sweet memories.

that make us some times weep, but most of all make us smile.

Although this picture is from quite a few moons ago...

It feels like only yesterday!

We always have such fun, now as then...

( I smile also at the very same knitted sweater and kilts, that we would nearly 

always wear at the very same time.
Life seemed simpler then, some how...

I read some where that' Time is a dress maker specialising 

in alterations'..

But some things she just can't alter...

And that is the sisterly bond.
