Happy Fathers day one and all..

Have a super day!
"A Father is some one who carries photographs in his wallet, where his money used to be"...
Love and blessings to those dear, Daddies who have passed through those pearly gates ....
but remain in our hearts forever.
God bless you all.
I echo your sentiments Maria.I am lucky to still have my dad with us but at 85 he wont be around for ever. For those less fortunate than I am memories will abound at this time.XX

ReplyDelete"A father is someone that holds your hand at the fair,
makes sure you do what your Mother says, holds back
your hair when you are sick, brushes that hair when it
is tangled, because Mother is to busy, lets you eat ice
cream for breakfast, but, only when Mothers is away, he
walks you down the aisle, and tells you every things gonna
be o.k."
Bless you Willie, this is lovely! I was thinking of you on Thursday, with the secret lives of cats!!
DeleteA lovely post Maria, my Dad passed away 2 years ago, I have been thinking of him today too. The children couldn't be home today but they sent my husband a lovely card telling him how much he meant to them. It can be so easy to take things for granted.

Dear Maria,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and thoughtful post. I am so, so Lucky my 90 year-old father is alive and kicking. Infact I am off to England to spend a few precious days with my parents and brother on Friday! I cannot wait to step away from the business of life and savour their presence.
Love,
Stephanie
Hello Maria
ReplyDeleteYour words say it all..I will never forget my Dad, even though he has been away for so long, he left so much behind..Thea x
Great little saying! My Dad loved the fuss we made of him on Fathers Day although he would never admit it! :) x
ReplyDelete((hugs)) xx
ReplyDeleteI love that saying 'A Fathers is someone who carries photographs in his wallet...', so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
So lovely Maria! And isn't it incredible how "antique" the 1950s and '60s are starting to look in those black and white photos...
ReplyDeleteMy dad has passed through the pearly gates too Maria . I thought of him most of the day. I am pretty sure he felt my thoughts and my love . I do miss him so.
ReplyDeleteOh what a precious post, a most darling quote about the wallet. How true, for they work so hard to keep us going, to feed us, to shelter us. Maria dear, you are a gem. Thank you for visiting me and for "sitting" with me to have a virtual cup of tea. Love to you my dear and sweet friend across the pond, Anita
ReplyDeleteI wonder, do you know who said that quote? DID YOU? I would love to use it sometime and properly give credit. Anita
ReplyDeleteHello, lovely YOU....It comes into Bumble Bee, on the East of India Range of products....I have wrote on plaques for folks in the shop, Anita...It reminds me of my dear Dad, he always carried us in his wallet...Very often with little else in it....He worked so hard for us and was taken at just a little older than me, now...Too young! I wish you a week full of twinkles, my friend! ****
DeleteOh sweet one, thank you for sharing where you got the quote; it is so precious and I will cherish it!
ReplyDeleteWhen you think about the brief lives some fathers spent on earth, it is disheartening, but yesterday as I was pondering on my father's 82 years of life, I am grateful that he left something inside of me...his creative spirit goes on in me.
Have a wonderful day, Anita
