~ A Tickety Boo Week....

~ "April brings the promise that May is bound to keep."......

~ A special week for me....
~ Finding treasure from birthdays passed....
Notice just how many pretty flowers are on this delightful card.....Wild violets, Daisies, Pansies, buttercups....
~ and those sweet blue birds...
( Little Bambi card above from Mum, from a birthday I celebrated nearly thirty years ago.......)
Just perfect for this post...

~ Thank you for all your birthday wishes... ******
It has been a Tickety boo week indeed!
YOU know the ones....
Visits from friends....Candles and birthday cake....All topped off with lovely cards and good wishes...

********

 ~ A Grand week indeed....
A visit from Dean with this beautiful gift!.
~ Making me smile, as he told me of rushing around Selfridge's  (nearly missing his train) with, indeed a sweaty brow.....eagerly looking for some thing....that in his words" I didn't  already own" from CK below.
hehe!
He knows me so well!

~ This last week has seemed to be an inchy~ wincy bit warmer too......
Mr sunshine has most certainly had his hat on for us, here in Cumbria!
Yippee! About time , I jolly well say too!

~ Furry feline friends have smiled in the warmth of the April sunshine....

~ On my travels and walks to work each morning, I happened to notice  the tiniest shades of pale greens showing through on the branches of the trees.....
Almost like someone has the paint box out and is gently brushing the palest streaks of colour onto each bough...
~ Spring is slow, but she is awakening gently from her long slumber....

~ My view on my walk to work.
I call these beautiful tree's 'far away trees'.....
( I wonder what tales they could tell me, if they could only talk)
~ I hope your week has been of the Grandest kind....~ and the extra hour of sunlight has warmed your spirit....

~ I even managed to wear 'THAT' floral frock, this last week too....
Still rather chilly, but I wore plenty layers....

~ That's all from me today!
As I have just peeked, The Time Travellers Wife is on our screens....
(LOVE THIS MOVIE)
Wishing you all a Tickety boo kind of week!
And thanking you always for the kindest of words....
~ I will be catching up with your week in words and pretty pictures, very shortly!
~ Love Maria x

  1. Sweet Maria!

First of all, I hope you got my comment early this morning as I responded to your KIND VISIT and comment from last night!

Oh my goodness, you walk to work and have such beauty to behold? LOVELY! And it is still chilly here my friend, and I would love to wear a frock as well to work, but my leggings are still calling me!

So lovely to see you and I wish you an extended birthday wish of delight. My birthday is April 23, St. George's Day and I believe it is Shakespeare's Bday too!

    Happy day, Anita

  2. Ah! Bambi...Lovely. It's been on all week, on and off on the Sky Disney Channel..In fact it's on to-day, Sunday, at five! Goodness made in 1942.

I also have kept Birthday and Christmas cards over the years...Many years...I have a rather large African drum, and they sit on that, from time to time, get them off...And have a look through! Happy days...Happy people. And, some of the greetings in them, still make me laugh! :).
Even have musical ones...That still work....
    I have a birthday one, when opened...Sings....
Celebration...Kool and the Gang..1980. Great stuff...Love it...! HeHe!

    Must just tell you....
Yesterday l was in Wimborne, town eight miles for me...Well...I love kids...(Used to be one).
I bumped into a couple of friends, and, their little boy..Tom, who's seven. I always pull their leg, and tell them, they should have a couple more boys and, call them Dick and Harry...ANYWAY! HeHe!
Apparently, along with Thomas the Tank Engine..
Noddy..I am one of his heroes...
At one point he tugged my pink 12ft scarf....
And said..."What kind of policemen would deal with a dead rabbit". (only 7 mind).
I thought and quickly said "Bugs Bunny"
"Don't be silly Willie". (Get a lot of that).
I then said "o.k. smarty pants, what kind of.......".
    He said...He said...Wait for it...He said.....
"Starsky and Hutch". I WAS AMAZED....! :>).
I gave him a pound coin and off l went....Into Costa...What did l do in Costa...Told EVERYONE that joke....What a great little hero...! Bless!

    Lovely 'Tickety' post Maria....Wonderful...!
    Fairies...Frocks...Love trees...Though l'm usually barking up the wrong one...HeHe!

    Be' allora Ciao...Arrivederci...x

    1. Hi Willie... I have such a lot of treasure from Mum....so thoughtful that she kept for me....I could imagine you would treasure cards too! ~ That little lad sounds a cutie...I had a smile as I always do at your generous comments, my friend! By the way I still have no cooker! hehe....Those Rosey Tinted Spectacles are good, but they didn't cook the joint!!

    2. Oh! My goodness Maria...Still no cooker...!
Give me a shout and l'll send up some sausages....
      There three weeks old....But, they'll be o.k. HeHe! :).

      Reminded me....
A chap jumps out of a plane...His chute would'nt open,
neither would his reserve.....Down he went..!
Suddenly! coming the other way was another guy, who asked
him what was wrong..."My chute won't open...Do you know
      anything about them?".
"No" he said, "Do you know anything about gas cookers?". :>)

  8. Such a cute Bambi card from your childhood ;) It sounds like your birthday was well rounded out with family, gifts and cake!! The best kind of birthdays :) The fabric of your dress does look a little light for this time of year, so it's a good thing you layered it well! Enjoy the rest of your week my friend! Wendy

  9. Hello Maria

ahhh!!! but you make what some would call mundane things sound so magical. You or rather your body (he! He!) looks lovely in that floral dress and the jeans make it all that much more delightful :-)
I certainly agree with you spring is slow so slow to delight us with its light, sunshine and the glory of spring flowers. Even here....I had to go and get a thicker cardigan this morning when we went out for our Sunday walk. It continues to be windy and cold under a blue blue sky.
Like yourself I keep my cards and my most precious one is a little toy post office letter that my daughter wrote to me when she was seven. It was at Christmas and she wanted to open her presents so she slipped in our bedroom and left a letter on my bed and pitter pattered away. As you may have guessed the contents of the letter demanded we get up as it was Christmas Day LOL! I keep that letter in a very safe place.
Many thanks for your comments on my magic post ... I see you understand :-)

    keep well

    Amanda :-)

Your pretty card reminds me of the flowers growing on Medieval and Renaissance 'lawns'! Don't you just love violets? And primroses? And, sigh of pleasure.

Cumbria is such a beautiful part of the world and I couldn't help but smile than I read that's where you lived. Such a magical person as yourself has to live in an enchanted location!

  26. BEAUTIFUL MARIA!

Thank you my precious friend, for coming to visit me and for even TRYING to follow the poetry template to create and celebrate WHERE YOU ARE FROM! Oh how that makes my heart sing! Your kind words really lift me up as I attempt to write poetry, REAL poetry. I have high hopes and I am always reaching for things much farther than my immediate reach, always trying to tackle bigger things than myself, but it is so fun and worth it. Poetry is the unveiling of the forgotten and ordinary....have fun and HAPPY BIRTHDAY again! Mine is on the 23rd!

Hugs sweet and lovely friend! Anita
