Cut from the Same Cloth......

I've been browsing through your wonderful blogs this week and I must say that I have strong feelings that us vintage girls are perhaps 'Cut From The Same Cloth'....there are soo many lovely lovely ones!

We have a great love of Mother Earth and all her gifts....
We just adore flowers!

We certainly have been finding the 'diamonds in our own back yard' as the saying goes and we're always treasure hunting...

We can always see the beauty in things that have had a past life........

They may be a little tired and worn, but we love them even more for this.......This is my dear Mum's childhood book of Alice in wonderland which is precious to me.........

There is always a furry friend or two.....Be they feline or mutlies......We just love them in our lives.......In fact they very much make our homes a home!

But we have one very big thing in common and that is we have chosen well, my friends, with very patient partners, who share our love of all things old too!

Mine just sighs and says "Don't we have one of those already?"....But what he doesn't know is we usually have a dozen!!! Hehe...Hope your weekend is kind to you!

Bye For now!

April ,the Angel of months......

It's been a busy bee sort of week. A week of reflection also....I came upon these lovely words by _Vita Sackville- West......I'd love you to hear them too!

Perhaps its because April is so full of dazzling sunlight. Perhaps it's because the earth seems greener.Perhaps it's because resurrection is this month's signature. Is this why our spirits start to soar? Now the season of darkness diminishes as the season of Light increases in strength. In the garden, primroses violets, tulips and lilacs burst with colour. Each flower, plant and bough bears profound witness to the power of authenticity.........

I fell in Love with the words......I guess it's how I am feeling at the moment.as busy as a bee, but enjoying Living by My Own lights.......

I wanted to share with you my love of Auricula's............Such a pretty flower.......

Am sooo looking forwards to my favourite flower Lily of the valley bursting into bloom any day now!!

I have just heard the weather report for the coming week.....Aww dear brollies and wellies am afraid!!!!

I will leave you with this lovely little quote " I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds round my neck.......

Sewing a little happiness into your Sunday I hope. xxxxx

Just wanted to say a Big Thank you if you have come upon my blog and left a comment.....You are very lovely!!!!

Come on a walk with me......

The Sun was shining on my Sunday....I visited a special place to me,as I do every weekend placed flowers there....Then set off with my man for a lovely walk ........

We noticed all the country side changing as though some one had gotten the paint pot out and gently coloured shades of green on the trees after a long slumber......I do all my thinking like this,as I don't drive (the roads are safer without me on them, believe me)

Tell you something for nothing having a blog certainly makes you notice the world around you a little more, that's for sure.....Could just imagine pixie folk dancing around this in the early morning dew......

We saw "The magical Wishing Tree"......Soo we made a big wish or two....

Came upon these guys on route, very friendly they were too!

My man always said I was a cheapish date(pardon the pun).doesn't cost a lot of pennies to keep me happy!!

Back home again to a nice pot of tea.......My kind of Sunday!!

Puttering and Pottering.............

"My idea of house work is to sweep the room with a smile"

After all the excitement of my birthday and the eating out you do on these occasions, this week has been nice and quiet really.......There's been a spot of house cleaning and a lot of puttering too.....

I'm forever bringing home to live with me Vintage goodies from the little treasure trove of a shop that I spend my days and pennies in.....

It's always such fun trying to fit them in and rearranging my home around usually works...some times I forget I am at home and not in work!!

Must remember I share my house with 4 naughty but nice moggies......I'll leave you with this quote of the day.....

"House work is what a woman does that nobody notices unless she hasn't done it"

Soo True!!

Happy Friday!

Blowing Out Candles and Making Wishes...

I am another year older this week, and perhaps a decade wiser...

I wore my Birthday dress from this beautiful shop.

I also recieved lovely gifts from dear friends...

In this week also, I've celebrated my Wedding aniversary. Could it really be 23 years? How time flys!

I couldn't help but notice that Easter eggs just don't seem to be the same quality as once they were... There seems to be lots of mass produced ones and very 'samey' ones! I can't help but remember the days when chocolates were bought for the beautiful pictures on the box as much as for what was inside them and then perhaps used for keep-sakes...it must be an age thing again!

Wishing you Easter blessings!

Happy April Fools Day

"Always laugh when you can. It's cheap Medicine"
-Lord Byron
I've being looking at the famous Chanel adverts with Olivia this week, she had an assignment for her Media Studies and she choose these to analyse...
Nicole Kidman, famously arriving in all her glory for her own premier with the dishy man she falls for watching in the lights of the Chanel logo. Then there's Kiera on the motorbike and the lovely Audrey Tautou on what looks to be the Orient express. (Just lovely!) Did you know these ads were as long as 3.30 minutes when fully played out and costing around 2million to make! That takes an awful lot of perfume sales!
I'm going back a long way now but stay with me, I always loved and wanted to be the girl in the famous flake advert, you may remember these! They were shot in the early 80's.

It speaks for itself really, strolling through sunflowers only to come upon  a Gypsy caravan and to be swept away somewhere exciting! I loved these ads so much even the throaty voice advertising the 'crumbliest, most flakiest milk chocolate in the world' at the end used to make me smile! Actually I was more of a Fry's chocolate cream person but the ads still worked their magic.
Imagine my surprise when the One show did a feature on the particular flake girl alongside the milky-bar kid (All grown up now of course) and the guy taking a break from filming the pandas in the zoo for kitkat. hahaha. I found it kind of spooky really, but she still looked amazingly young and hadn't aged at all!
Ah well that leads me onto the fact that Easter is approaching fast and chocolate eggs of plenty are in our shops.

Wishing your Easter bunny arrives with a spring in his step this Easter weekend!
